Any of you'll have recommendations for cheap winter cycling gloves?

I bought these Polish army puma gloves for £5 and they're great on a 2-3 degrees C day, but at night when it gets to 0-1 with the windchill, they're only comfy for 30 minutes before my fingertips start getting cold.

I looked at specialist winter cycling gloves but they look fairly thin and lacking in insulation plus they're pricey as fuck. I'm finna to just get some skiing gloves (as the basketball Americans say).

For cheap winter cycling headgear I can recommend this flecktarn trapper hat you can get for £3. You can even flip up the peak like on real cycling cap so it feels like it was made for cycling.

addendum: one thing I haven't tried with the Polish gloves is glove liners. Might not even need new gloves at all.

When it gets down to 0 or lower, I use lined leather gloves. When it gets REALLY cold I wear running gloves as a base layer inside lined leather mitts.

Me too. Totally worth it even if I only use them about 15 times a year.

My cheapo friend uses gardening gloves. Says they are fine.

I've gone through about 5 different pairs of other cycling gloves, cheaper ones are "fine" but the amount of insulation needed is where the difference lies. These fancy ones aren't that thick but I can wear them at temperatures that I used to need lobster gloves for. What worries me is that whatever space age insulation it has will deteriorate after one season and they'll be like any old cheap glove after that, but time will tell.

Pearl Izumi gel elite fingerless. Worn w gloveliners 50 to 60 degrees. Without liners above 60

Hat is a Huntsworth safety fleece lined hunters cap, worn under helmet in sub 50 degree days, $12

Skiing gloves work great but i keep them for -20C.

Around 0C handlebar mitts are goat. They work equally well for freezing temps and rainy stormy windchill. Size helps with insolation distance, keeping weather away and allowing breathability. You can operate phone / keys or access zippers instantly. Recommend.
