>>1594613>>1594625Physically they're some of the better trains on the network, I love the design/power but I've grown to hate them because CrossCountry's in particular seem to always be filthy inside and out, and the interiors are beyond tired. on top of that XC almost always overbook and THEN turn up with a 4 car unit instead of 5. as a result the other passengers are almost always in a foul mood, on several occasions I've had some karen mouthing off at me convinced I'm in her seat (I wasn't).
of course, not forgetting the constant smell of raw sewage mixed with toilet cleaning chemicals to try and hide it. It's even worse in the vestibules, where you WILL end up sitting on the floor for 3 hours with the guard walking past every 10 minutes telling you you're a fire hazard and "there's loads of unreserved seats in coach B" (which incidentally are full of people who had reservations but got told to move by karen and couldn't be bothered with an argument, so there's no point trying)
don't get me started on the sort of people who actually try and get on at Birmingham. Entitled shits who act surprised the train is busy and always tell you to move. like ffs, don't get on, you know it's going to be full, XC only call here as a technicality because it's in their contract. there is no reason for you to get on this train, just get one of the myriad other, much better TOCs who call there.
thanks for reading my blog post. I'm a wh*te m*le, in case you were going to ask.
