For example a local developer in my city wanted to bring our city its first Whole Foods grocery. He bought the land then a bunch of suburban NIMBYs tried to fight against a grocery store in their neighborhood (yes I’m serious). So he invited everyone to come dump their dirt on his site and create a big unsightly mess to piss off all the NIMBYs. Finally the city rented, the Whole Foods was built, and the locals shop there all the time. NIMBYs don’t really think things through.
Also ignore the dumbasses trying to claim induced demand isn’t real.
Induced demand is well-documented by traffic engineers from decades of studies.
