Is there a name for this type of city layout? I can't quite put my finger on it but I have always really loved this type of city. This is a picture of Pasadena and Wikipedia calls it 'Victorian and art deco' and it reminds me a lot of San Jose.

There is something really cool about these relatively low-standing corporate buildings blended with wide flat streets and the Spanish and religious influence.

By contrast cities like Seattle and San Francisco have always had a more organic design which is probably a product of the hilly geography. The tall skyscrapers offer a bit of order and modernity but still it feels like there are so many little nooks and crannies where chaos accumulates. It doesn't feel healthy.
