I like how the windows rattle as the engine spools up to drive the torque converter. Over each bump you can hear the plastic panels inside hitting each other. I like how the fluorescent lights blink every now and again reminding you of the shithole school you went to.
Every stain on the seats and the floor has it's own story of a blackout drunk night out with the lads and pissed up scotsmen shouting about the English.
Even the blown out tannoy speakers which makes the announcements a complete mystery have their charm.
I take this exact train as my father and father before him did and the grime on the sills is a testament to that.
Sadly I know their days are numbered and to watch the Pacers go is to have found out the old family dog has finally passed. You knew it was going to happen but that doesn't make it hurt any less
