What are the possible solutions for improving range without using more batteries? Are there alternative batteries that can be used which are already available (hybrid capacitors, Nickel batteries, LiFePO4, prismatic cells, ...)?

This is getting very close to a proper product instead of an expensive toy.

A 200$ honda dio will both cost less and produced less pollution during it's lifetime. And you can go RTW with that.

Call me when those mopeds are sub 3000$ and nonexistent parts and used market doesn't scream "single use unrepairable rich toy".

No it doesn't. Even tiny scooters and track bikes get more than 80 miles out of a tank. Then you can fill em up anywhere in 5 minutes.
Admittedly 80 miles is probably more than most motorcyclists do in a day.
