>>1602012basically, it's many people on /n/s opinion that the bike you bought is overbuilt for what you will likely use it for, easy trails and commuting. That it would be desirable to -not- have a bad suspension fork and -not- have 2.2" knobbly tires and that you'd have more fun on a bike that didn't weigh 15kg.
Also not exactly that you didn't spend enough, but that you'd have gotten more on the used market if you had seeked advice and done some work fixing it up.
I think actually they're missing the point. You did get a solid entry level bike. It's well specced. The colour is nice. You avoided a lot of nonsense from old things. I just encourage you to actually push it to its limits on trails. If you genuinely do mean the occasional dirt path or gravel road like most normies mean when they full on cuck themselves into an overkill heavy bike, then well, you did fuck up. But what rigid 90s mtb fags and roadies do, underbiking and going on gravel and trails and having fun because their bike is -underbuilt- for what they're doing, you should do it too. Go ride some serious trails. Then your bike makes sense.
Also, seeing as you're commuting, buy a rear rack, and zip tie a metal basket on it. Put your bag in it. It will be real nice. You have the bosses for it.
