>>1609946the best looking bike is the one with you riding it bby
>>1609959wowzers the defy pro 2 is a $4300 bike now, crazy. vs a 9sp bike the cassette and chain will be slightly more expensive when you need to replace...like maybe $30 extra. vs a rim brake bike, servicing the brakes every so often is more expensive. In my area bike shops charge around $40 a side for bleeding, vs $20 for recabling. Not really a big deal imo. if you prefer diy a bleed kit is around $150 but for me it's not worth the hassle because I'm just that damn lazy.
>>1609974the only time when disc brakes on road racing bikes make much of a difference in is when you're racing on carbon rims, or if you have weak hands. Shimano's road discs have problems with warping rotors (unless you buy the cheap all-steel ones) and brake fade on long technical descents. Campy/Magura's brakes are really good tho, and Shimano will hopefully be catching up with Dura Ace 9200, as braking improvements are one of the key focus areas of its development. They are keenly aware of how much their current brakes suck for racing. Meanwhile, the front end is much harsher on most disc brake bikes, except for cases like the Argon Dark Matter and its neato flexy fork, TIME's crazy Aktiv fork, Bianchi's CV, etc. Eventually the tech will mature and it'll be a lot more clear cut, as it is with mtb
>>1609983lmao nope, rim brakes are gone on everything aside from retrogrouch rigs and the highest end racing bikes (and even there, models like the new Bianchi Specialissima have no rim option), and the industry isn't going back
