my local boomer who sold my b17 to me recommended NOT to proofide it or anything until it got rough or dry and really needed it
so i did 6 months touring on it, left it out often in all weathers, and it broke in nicely, and i never once thought 'i wish it was softer' which is what conditioning leather does right?
Now it could probably use some.
