I'm procrastinating, my browser doesn't have spell check, and I'm dyslexic. However:
>>1627704>You don't have a real job, you're not a good cyclist, you're not cool.Having been a messenger for years I agree 100%.
It's not a real job, sadly it's the only option for some people. It also used to be one of the few jobs you could pick up and put down at a moments notice making it great for actors and the like. When I was riding firms didn't care who you were and where you had come from as long as you were on your radio early and rode at a predictable pace. This made it ideal for people who had criminal back grounds, or for whatever reason couldn't get work elsewhere.
>you're not a good cyclist100% agree, the one thing you could say is that messenger develop the assertivness needed to ride everyday in a busy city without getting killed. However, there is a thin line between this and riding too aggresvily and getting killed.
>you're not coolAnyone who gets a job that pays as little as messenger work and is as hard as messenger work in the hope of being cool will not last long. Being the bitch of law firms and banks for 2 pounds a drop sucks. Plus you're totally self employed with no safety net.
>>1628430Alleycats are mostly people getting a bit drunk and going for a ride around the city.
>>1628504>A lot of messengers raceA lot also don't race. In fact most don't, at least from my experience.
>Hey you underpaid person, you've just finished dragging your body around town in the rain and wind for 11 hours a day, want to go ride some more?No thanks I'm going to go home and eat pasta till I vomit, get a little stoned and listen to audio books until monday comes around again and I have to do it all over again.
>>1628566>If these messengers are so strong what's stopping them from jumping into a pro/1/2 field and walking away with the prize money? From what I saw, drug addiction.
