We shouldn’t be building more of the same shit we built 100 years ago, we need new ideas. The government thinks of cars and planes as rival countries, who need to be defeated with sanctions and attacks. They should be thinking of them as competitors, trying to give the end user the most value, like USPS does with UPS and fedex. I’d be happy with my tax dollars going towards a national fleet of demand responsive electric minibuses that pick me up from my front door and drop me off at work. I really don’t see that much value in a really fast train from Cincinnati to Indianapolis. If we’re just posting words into the void on 4chan, why not dream big, rather than rejoicing over the dollar store candy the politicians are throwing out to placate the masses?
