Welp gents, I did it. I ordered a 59cm Surly Steamroller frameset. It's shipped. Can't go back now.

The purpose of this thread is I know jack shit about a lot of components and I'd like to be educated.

>GOALS:

I'd like this to be my all purpose single speed adventure "underbike". ~65 gear inches. 700c x 32mm tires. Something like a 44-18 (65.9 gear inches) or 38-16 (64.28 gear inches).

I don't want turbo ultralight components if they're weak. I'll accept a bit of a weight increase if I can get bomb proof tank components.

I do plan on riding this down gravel and dirt roads with potholes and stuff like that. I may even take this bike on light touring and short bikepacking adventures.

>What I have so far:
59cm frameset, shipped.
Fairweather b903 bullmoose bars (silver).
Velo Orange Grand Cru brake calipers (black).
Blue Lug brass stem cap.

That's it so far.

>Wheelset, freewheel
Do I need 36h hubs/rims? I was looking at these Wabi cx/urban hubs which seem pretty nice, but they're 32h and maybe I want 36h?

Are all freewheels the same or is there some brand that makes an especially bulletproof freewheel?

>Cranks, bottom bracket, chainring, cog, chain
I know absolutely jack shit about this. I want 170mm cranks (I think?). I hear really good things about Wolf Tooth single speed cogs and chainrings. I hear they're a league above what comes stock with most cranksets. So I've been thinking that would be cool. But you have to get a chainring for a specific set of cranks. What's a good bombproof set of cranks for an adventure bike? Should I just get something simple like SRAM S300 and put on a Wolf Tooth chainring? Are there specific chainrings and chains that work best for single speed?
