Planned obsolescence.
But standard bearing hubs too have limited number of bearing removals / presses before they become loose or you cross-press a bearing.

been asked this many times over the years and the correct answer is

My only gripes are that cups are mostly non-replaceable and they have failed to standardize.

Often i have to purchase 2..3 cone sets and still add extra spacers to make replacements fit properly. Not even dreaming of replacing dust seals, caps or other small bits. Basically new hub then.
