On cold days trains would frequently be delayed, outright canceled, or get stuck mid-trip due to frozen switches and busted equipment. And i’d have to go get my car and drive on the roads, which still worked.
Yes, if amtrak were a properly funded and modernized rail system some of these issues could have been avoided, but it isn’t and this is the reality we live in.
