My cycling pants got caught in the chainring while I was going downhill at 40mph. My rear tire locked up and I crashed into a parked motorcycle on the side of the road which tipped over and somehow managed to start a fire that almost burned down the entire hillside community up there. This happened in 2017 or 2018 in San Jose.

Tl;dr don’t buy Chinese cycling pants

I got hit by a plane while riding my bike. I was badly injured and some onlookers called 911. An ambulance arrived. I was loaded onto a stretcher. On my way to the hospital we almost got into an accident with a semi truck. The medics slammed on the breaks and I rolled out of the back of the ambulance which for some reason wasn't locked or hinged shut. I rolled for several miles downhill and went over the side of the road into a pond. I struggled to get out of the stretcher and almost drowned. Luckily some rescuers ran over to help out. I was bitten several times by an alligator before it successfully dragged off one of my rescuers. I was then hit by a helicopter attempting to rescue me from the alligators and drowning. The helicopter crashed into the pond and the pilot died. I managed to swim my way out of the pond and drag myself onto the side of the road where I was hit by a bicycle flying down the road. Finally I managed to make it to the hospital when I woke up in my bed and realized it was all a bad dream.

One night i was riding super fast down a Chicago sidestreet and the streetlights were out. To add even more stupidity to the mix i had a long chain lock hanging from my handlebars as i was only going a short distance to meet friends at a bar. I hit a massive pothole that i never saw and it caused the chain to whip into my spokes, immediately stopping the bike and sending me flying through the air like superman. It felt like i was airborne for minutes but I eventually hit the road and my helmet (thank god) cracked on the ground, and i had rocks embedded in my hands and a fractured wrist. I kind of laid there for an unknown period of time and then managed to drag my completely fucked bicycle and body off into the grass. As i sat there some passing motorists stopped to ask if i was ok; i could hardly speak but gave a thumbs up with my better hand. I then managed to limp to the bar and lock up my shitheap bike and pound liquor and ice my hand and watch hockey with my friends.

you need like 60x11 to not spin out at that speed (assuming you're pedalling, because you can't really get that fast under gravity alone).
if he was on a fixie it would have locked the wheel, but a fixie with that ratio would be useless for literally anything other than bombing it at 40mph downhill.
yeah I call bullshit on this one.
