Bought a 350W scooter last year and it practically saved it's price of 500€ in one year in public transportation costs and it cucks cars in travel speed by a lot.
Just bought a new more powerful 1600W one and it's the fastest form of transportation in the city I can imagine.
Best part is that you can take these scooters with you when you go to the store, which makes it a total door to door transportation.
No need to spend time locking and unlocking it or anything, just hop on it and ride home which adds to the speed factor.
Only downside with these is that people and cars have no idea how to react to them.
These things are fast as fuck and fairly new sight on the street, which often leaves people with this deer in the headlights reaction, where they just stare at you and wonder how they should act.
Anyone who doesn't have their mind in the game when riding with these can cause a lot of problems and get run over by a car that didn't know whether to brake or not.
>>1639414I agree the legislation makes no sense anywhere.
What makes even less sense is the top speed of 25km/h they have slapped on these scooters in most places.
Anyone can cycle faster than that even with a shitty supermarket bike and 1000W electric motor can take you up to 45km/h fairly easily.
Then again there's a silver lining to them slapping these into existing class and considering them basically bicycles.
I'm sure that mandatory registration and insurance on scooters is only a matter of time. Our governments aren't going to let people travel freely like this without paying.
Existing vehicle class gives them a bit of time until that happens.
