Does anyone here at cycli/n/g have blood pressure problems?
I love cycling although had a decade of absence in the meantime but picked it up again before the covids hit. In the last few years I noticed my usual weather related migraines have got stronger, up to a point a stronger summer storm could send me into a migraine strong enough to be dizzy and vomit. Didn't thought much about it, just popped in a paracetamol before weather situations.
Fast forward to today, when I got a routine check (after a decade or so) and the doctor told me I have high blood pressure (164 sys). On my way home I bought a pressure meter at the pharmacy. Now the darn thing is measuring 175-200 sys. I don't exactly feel anything wrong.
My question is, does blood pressure meds interfere with cycling? I usually do 25-40km when I have free time (plus good weather), usually on the weekends. I did notice I get tired quickly and my heartrate gets very high from moderate effort, having to stop and rest a minute 2-3 times a ride.
Damn it lads, I got really scared today. Make sure you go to regular checks and don't be a chicken about it, much better to catch something like this early on.
