You may have to broaden your desires a little. Look for any bike that isn't from a department store. Hybrid, road, ridgid mountain, whatever. Make sure you know your size. Narrow your search down to aluminium framed options, ridgid, one or two chainrings up front, at least nine cogs in the rear, shimano drivetrain, and threadless fork. Don't be afraid to low ball. Expect to do some tuning.
On second thought, it would be better to save your money and wait until the market cools down so long as you don't need a new bike urgently.
