Strava vs Komoot vs Ride with GPS

What's the best option for route planning & exporting to a bike computer (in my case, Wahoo Roam). For long bike rides in Europe but also bikepacking in shithole countries.

I don't want to be tied into an expensive subscription model... but OTOH I'll consider spending some money if it's worthwhile. I used a Garmin Edge 530, and within the smartphone app you can plot waypoints on Google maps and route that way.
