Didn't find an English source for the cargo compartment, but the gist is that the SBB Re 450 is a modified version of the Re 456 built for various private Swiss railways.
Since they planned to always use them in fixed train sets, they cut costs and improved aesthetics by making it an asymmetrical locomotive without a second control stand.
