I have a friend who is in his 50's perhaps 20 stone and has a slight physical disability, he also cycles as his main source of exercise. He has recently asked me about dieting and I'm wondering what is the best diet to suggest to him.
I was thinking he might try GI diet, because he is not accustomed to dieting and exercise, therefore small portions of low GI (think if got that the right way round) carbs would probably fill him up for longer and he'd be able to stick to it better? Any advice for a dieter of this size and exercise capacity?
I lost 2 stone this year on keto, but I'm a seasoned gymrat who knows enough about nutrition and has plenty of willpower and this is why my friend is asking for advice. but I feel he wouldn't be able to stick to keto, wouldn't count carbs and would definitely overdo it on the fats, so I'm reluctant to advise him on a keto based diet. any other suggestions?
