Deflating in two weeks is normal for latex. A pinch flat is from user error, which is normal for frogposters.

Like 80% of them refer to using one as a spare tube in a saddle pack. And even in that use tubolitos are vastly better. Only retards buy "high end" butyl. It has no redeeming qualities. Latex is faster and rides better. Tubolitos are lighter and pack in a smaller package.

this is poorfag retardation. the reason why some american anons fuss so much about punctures with normal road tires or god forbid the slightly racier ones like gp 5000 is because they use the cheapest chinese walmart tier tubes while other anons don't have a problem with punctures at all. there are "high end" midweight tubes like michelin airstop and continental race 28 which hold air better and are more resistant to punctures than cheap basic tubes. your roads aren't THAT bad for the most part, people drive cars and motorcycles all the time and almost never get punctures, you should be able to ride a road bike for thousands of km without flatting if you use good inner tubes and install them correctly.

Cars and motorcycles don't get punctures because their tires are a lot more durable construction. Hell you could install marathons on a bike and never worry about punctures. The ride feel is absolute dogshit so no one who rides for fun does that. What inner tubes you use has about the least impact on how much you're going to puncture. It all depends on your tires and where you're riding. If you're riding in some thorn infested hellhole you're going to puncture no matter the inner tubes. And no matter how expensive the butyl tube is it's still going to feel like shit compared to latex. And heavy compared to the new tubolitos. If you don't care about feel, or minimal rolling resistance gains, and just want something that holds air inside then the cheapest butyl you can find is the solution. If you want something better then either latex, tubolito, or tubeless is the way to go.

Because the tube deforms as the tire deforms. There is plenty of testing on rolling resistance with different tubes/tubeless.

psi = pounds per square inch.

If you+bike is 200 pounds the contact patch will be 2 square inches at 100 psi, 3 square inches at 67 psi, etc.

The TT is flat, weight really doesn't make much difference at all except during the initial acceleration and acceleration out of the turnaround. I compared my previous best and most recent time data on GoldenCheetah and I was just faster across the board, the time I gained on my previous attempt wasn't due to lighter tubes and faster acceleration.

It does make a little difference, but again, so small you might as well ignore it, unles you pedal perfectly circular and smooth, you do little dips between each push, overall, a fly hitching a ride is probably more noticeable than this.

A few days later, on a group ride, the first street we went down was very familiar to me. There's a couple of deep gouges in it, and hitting them will cause my bell to ding itself (it's the kind w/ a striker on the end of a spring). So I had my hand poised over the bell, ready to touch it to stop any ringing. As I rode over the gouges, I watched the bell striker vibrate, but it didn't ring. That's the best evidence that I have that they did something beneficial.

Unfortunately, one tube failed at the base of the stem. It was silly. During a group ride, taking a break, I hung my bike from a rafter w/ the nose of the saddle. And a few minutes later, pffffffft. Can't remember what happened to the other one.
