About six years ago there was serious talk about a highway and rail system connecting Fairbanks and Yakutsk with a bridge over the Bering Strait.
Can we do this with current technology? It would need more durable surfaces to reduce maintenance interruptions, efficient long-range cars, wide roads fit for high speeds, and whatever else.
