Do you know what the largest infrastructure project in the US was? The Eisenhower Interstate system. It took them 40 years to build the damn thing, not to mention it's needed maintenance constantly for the last 30 years.

It cost us $530 billion in today's dollars to build, and has cost us an additional 40.9 billion per-year to maintain over the last 3 decades.

2 trillion will get you a fresh coat of paint for the next five years, that's it. I say go for it, but prepare to be disappointed in how little gets done.
