Trust me, semi trucks don’t have to worry about car-to-car impact safety features whatsoever, there’s a reason why they’re built like big iron practical boxes while cars have to be formed little bubbles with plenty of crumple zones

Smart is actually a bit of an exception in the small car space, it is extremely rigid and barely has any crumple zones because it's designed to use the crumple zones of whatever car it hits as its own. A more conventional car of that size will get mangled though, and an old one like a classic Mini will get completely obliterated.

Yeah but smart cars bounce off things, which seems safe for the car but it’s literally the opposite for the passenger, cars are supposed to crumple to a stop, not bounce from 40mph in one direction to 40mph in the opposite direction
