a guy did this to me when i was driving on the motorway 5km/h over the speed limit. I would have changed lanes and let him pass but the inside lane was going slow af and i was in a hurry so i tapped the brake with my left foot a couple times to tell him to fuck off

stopped at some lights eventually when the motorway ended and he came over and punched me in the face through the window

Engaging with them is a terrible idea. If you don't let them know that you know that they're there they'll only be mad at your existence - not at you personally - and will be much less likely to try and start an actual fight.

The correct thing to do is to very gradually slow down more and more without visibly letting them know that you see them. Like, after every mile or every time you have to brake for traffic turn the cruise control down 1mph. Also subtly adjust your speed to match cars in adjacent lanes if you can so they can't get around you. All the time watch them in your mirror (without turning your head) as their seethe intensifies.

Its always pick up truck drivers and tow truck drivers that do this where I live. I just keep driving the speed limit and wait till they pass me. They always keep me on edge though cause I feel like they'll ram me off the road

I was waiting for a concert when I saw a woman riding a bike down the bike and bus lane. Dude kept on her ass, driving aggressively and honking.
Even across the street, I heard he say loudly, but sweetly, 'bikes and busses only' a minimum of three times.
