That pass only works in certain places and certain times. You also have to get more stuff delivered or make more frequent trips. As your carrying capacity is limited.

You don't have to get stuff delivered. As for more frequent trips, thankfully a monthly pass permits unlimited trips.
As for the certain places, the vast majority of places you need to go to are near public transit.
If you are a major exception to this, you must an extremely fat and retarded American.

My ancient pickup just cratered, really missing being able to do that. OTOH I never needed those capabilities all that often and there are other options. How much plywood, gravel, and TVs do you really need in an average year? I can walk a few blocks and hop in a car-share or rent a pickup by the hour from the hardware store. The m/o/torcycle is picking up most of the slack for now, we'll see what happens when the snow flies.

Ya, the stuff you purchase on the internet is going to get delivered to you, how else would you get it.
And like someone else said, you will very rarely buy certain things, and can rent a pickup for the day you need it.
