>>1655953I recommend getting a pro scooter even if you plan on just commuting. Foldable commuter scooters SUCK. They get into disrepair state after a single season and require constant maintenance, because they've got so many moving parts they also rattle like crazy on anything but perfectly smooth surface. There's also a problem with scooter brands being in a weird, pointless arms race to create the fastest folding mechanism (as if 2 seconds vs 10 seconds is going to make anyone's day) which led to many of high-tier models being ironically less safe and in danger of folding while you move. On the other hand, pro scooters are built to last, they have only 5 principal parts, and they obviously withstand abuse and let you jump on and off the curbs. Yeah they don't fold but it never incovenienced me and I carry one on a train, just get into the corner and put it underneath yourself.
