I think i've almost got a reasonably good set of wheels for it between a few wheels that i found at the dump just need to swap some of the cups and cones around and put new balls in. The cups to swap came out fine with a chisel and hammer just need to press em in.
I bought a set of 2.1" NOS yellow FireXC pros and nos 1.5" tanwall paselas for really cheap. Use one of those.
Drivetrain use the 8spd LX trigger and rd it came with.
I have a deore thumby and a suntour triple mech that should work for the front shifting. The middle chainring needs replacing as it's lost a tooth. Maybe go 1x with a narrow wide if that all gets too complicated.
The bb is reasonably smooth but it's 73mm in a 68 shell with no spacers so it's asymetrical and it's pushed the left arm out so gotta fix that. I have some spacers for it.
either swept cruiser bars, or 60-80mm risers cos it's a bit small for me. It's 1 1/8" so i might go to oversized bars. Finding nice, wider, 25.4 risers is hard.
cantis, i have some new tektro 520s, or clean up some XT cantis i have that are in shit condition. Maybe 1 v brake because the only spare lever i have is long pull. It only came with the 1 lever. The front end might look cleaner without that cable hanger and the rear has a built in stop so use that.
It doesn't have a star nut in the steerer or a stem cap and i've never done that before so work that out.
I haven't decided what to do about the paint. I'll spray LPS-3 inside it but not sure about touchups. Something.
