So naturally Dutch cities are more walkable and biker friendly than the US, and Canada. The Netherlands is one of the smallest, and flattest countries on earth.
So either you cycle around their cities on the strict bike paths, or "camp" at a government campsite with 20 other people around you and cellphone access.
Of course if you actually own a car, there are usually several world-class day hikes within a few hours drive of most if not all large US and Canadian cities, not to mention plenty of outdoors to camp for free.
