>>1661231>Goes without sayingObvious if he notices it on the spec sheet, but he might forget to check some things, i.e. brake type. With that many criteria to look for, it would be easy for someone to forget to consider some factors. Why would he be asking if he already knew what all to look for?
>irrelevantAgain, he might forget to check
>basically wrongNo, it's not wrong. If he gets a wheel made for an 11 speed cassette sure he could throw spacers on but that's not going to be ideal. If he can't find a 7 speed wheel then he's better off getting an 8/9/10 than an 11.
>extremely unhelpfulWe don't know the dropout spacing on his frame unless someone knows offhand or looks it up. I didn't know offhand so I provided resources where he could find out. Sure, if some anon knows offhand and posts it, great, even better, but I provided resources in case such an anon did not come along.
>And what makes you assume he doesn't know anything about working on bikes? What makes you assume he does? Better to provide the info in case he doesn't already know it. If he already knows it, he can disregard it.
>>1661233>hiding the helpful infoHow so? I posted literally everything he needs to know what wheels to get. Forgive me for not being autistic enough to have memorized what OLD is used by road bikes of what era. Someone who has no idea what OLD is won't know what to look for in that regard and won't even necessarily know what Sheldon pages to reference. Hell, I remember being confused years ago when I was less experienced because some page gave a whole bunch of different measurements for the hub and I didn't know which measurement to pay attention to. Someone told me that OLD is the relevant measurement and that cleared it up for me. Hopefully the same can be said for the anon who is now looking to replace his wheels.
