>>1661090Play NFS games, I got like 5k hours across all NFS series and everybody who gets on my passenger seat for the first time tells me I drive well.
My instructor was a real bro though and I did more drives than the mandatory quote when I was taking my license, it may have helped me a bit more than the others who had a stupid instructor and did the bare minimum number of drives.
For me the real game changer was when I realized that switching gears down when you're braking makes the car stop faster and the wheels don't drift, I used to just press the brake when I was in 5th gear without caring to switch down. This can (most likely will) cause drifting and can get you into accidents. The realization completely changed my perception of driving, I can drive on highways at the speed limit without fear of getting into accidents.
Another thing that helps is respecting the safety distance, by law is 40 meters here but in reality you can make your own guess once you get used to the car, staying away helps you see the cars in front of the one right in front of you which makes possible to see what's happening ahead, I don't like relying on the car that's in front of me, most of the time they're retards, I want to see who is braking ahead as far as possible so I can better estimate my braking time, I don't like sudden braking, when I'm driving I prefer to relax, I always brake softly for a bit longer rather than suddenly all at once.
