Cannondale really dropped the fucking ball big time not making all the road bikes in the Pink and Blue colors of their EF Team.

For God's sake 80s day glo colors were back in style. If they ever sold an EF Team colorway I certainly haven't seen one and I'm in Fredsville Central.

That bike would be absolute shite for a commuter, why would you want aero wheels on a commuter, they are hell in heavy crosswinds or when a truck drives right next to you. Also, in what world does an aero frame with flat bars make sense? And on a commuter you want simple reliable cheap to maintain drivetrain, 2x8 or 2x9 is ideal, not 1x meme

i have drops on my commuter, which is a steel frame roadie with mudguards, and i wouldn't ever want flat bars, it makes it less aero on straight sections, less narrow for getting through standstill traffic, and less hand positions for comfort.

people who ride a lot use drops because they offer the most positions and allow the most aero position (flat arms resting on the hoods) before you go with aerobars/tt setup.

a bike is a bike, normal people don't notice. normie aluminium bikes also have fatter tubing. the toilet bowl rims are maybe a bit obnoxious since the aero fad from a couple of years ago has died down and people have realized that medium depth is faster. ~32mm rim depth would perhaps be reasonable for a commuter for weight and crosswind reasons.

Thin chains and lots of cogs with tiny spaces between them are way more fragile and less tolerant of minor damage and misadjustment, if you've ever ridden an old 2x6 setup you'd know that it take 0 effort to keep the drivetrain working ok and shifting fine, even using pre HG style cogs. 2x8 is best option for durability in modern road setups that still offers practical gearing. 3x7 is good if you're into old mtbs

fine for long distance touring when you've got panniers and shit. I've done a fair bit of euro touring and they're popular with the 50+ german/dutch man and wife type who are riding 50 miles a day.

but yeah i'm talking about riding at threshold pace for 150km+ on a regular basis, nobody does that on anything other than drops on a road bike, or aero bars. and aerobars aren't great for commuting in a city.
