Well there are two types the tiltrotor will be used for delivery, emergency and passenger transport meanwhile there's another style like 6-8 smaller electric rotors like a bid drone who work autonomously

They have no benefit over a helicopter, if the form factor was useful it'd be done now with the much higher energy density of jet fuel.

They've been trying to make these not-helicopter VTOL cars for decades and somehow they never turn out to be viable, electric or not. I bet especially electric ones are a pipe dream.

When didn't have such electrics systems decades ago. Today mass effeceincy of electrical transmission approaches mechanical transmissions and these makes electric vehicles possible. Also electric vtol is actually much more simple and better controlled in hover.
