Actually, in countries like Denmark, they allow for contra-flow cycling so bikes can ride either way, something that’s afforded by having more traffic lanes.

Here’s another example of a great implementation of one way streets- a protected bike lane, bus lane and stop, and there’s still room for two whole lanes of car traffic. Everybody wins!

cars should not be taken into account when designing inner cities. they needlessly complicate any design you may come upto, and the compromise will never be enough to satisfy both pedestrian and motorist.

Here’s an example of a 2 way street that was converted to one way. It can carry the same amount of traffic going one way, but there’s now more additional room for transit and a bike lane.

The bike lane is redundant as shit, I live in a city where the bus lane is also for cyclists. Buses are sometimes good for a draft, but they are more often than not slow as fuck and always starting and stopping.

It sucks though when you are stuck behind one and you are unable to safely overtake, then you have no choice but to inhale the buses brap fumes.
