>>1695116Well, it happened. I did the full century (and then like 4 more miles to get home). 6 hours and 3 minutes of total ride time to get to 100 miles. Might’ve been able to get under 6 hours but stopped to take a quick shit and forgot to turn off the tracker. With stops it probably took around 6.5 hours.
Stopped at mile 75 and looked like a fucking salt block. Literally salt built up all over my arms. Didn’t see many people but had a head wind after mile 75 on the way back. Screamed out FUCK YOU after the gust and a person came around the corner like 2 seconds later. I’m assuming they heard because they were smiling as they passed.
Got pretty dehydrated despite drinking like 6 propels and about one gallon of water, but stopped at the gas station on the way back at mile 90 and felt pretty cool when a lady asked me how far I was going today, and I got to say I was on mile 90 of 100. She was genuinely excited/surprised and I told her I was struggling a bit. Turns out it was the dehydration since I was able to down a bunch of water and felt a ton better.
Altogether, I ended up eating 5500 kcals of food today. Would consider doing again actually, it wasn’t as bad as I thought, but wasn’t planning on it being so hot. A second bottle cage would probably help.
Thank you anons for pushing me to do this, and thank god I actually did it…I told a bunch of people at work that I was going to and would’ve felt like an ass had I not filled through.
