Hardtail mtbs are probably the single most common type of commuter bicycle you will find around here. Get fucked with your first world roadie elitist mentality. If anything the fact that you can't ride your bike down a flight of stairs, jump it up a kerb or take it over some washboard means it's a holiday toy rather than a serious mode of transport.
