What will probably happen long term is that people still desire the “workplace environment” so private “work clubs” start popping up in smaller cities. They will be places kind of like a wework but more focused on the individual, but places with comfy work pods and communal eating and hang out areas so even if you don’t know anyone at your job irl, you can still socialize with other people working there.
