I was very glad I didn't have to use the 7.
That said, I'm not really against it, the subway system needs all the revenue you can get and with the speaker quality on most cars you can't hear shit anyway.

On one hand, that's very nice of the conductor in both cases; on the other hand, in Japan they probably would have kept going because the alternative would be a public apology for the train being 3 seconds late in arriving at the next station.

Would /n/ value a transit system that has these little moments of humanity, or a completely methodical one that prioritizes efficiency/punctuality above all else?

Yes, I commute daily between Queens & Manhattan. It was interesting the first few times when it surprised me, and some of the messages were quirky. Breaks up the monotony of hearing the same voiceover for years on end. I wouldn't mind more celebrity voiceovers as long as they aren't cringey. They should be getting more famous people to do these for free (consider it charity) to make the subway seem cooler and get more people riding again. With Akwafina's I was happy they didn't overdo it, the promotion ended right when it was getting tiring (for me anyways).

To me, human induced delays are unacceptable. People shouldn't be holding doors, the train should not get delayed leaving the station. When doors close and then re-open because a few doors on some trains failed to close cause of stragglers, it's annoying. To those few riders who receive the humanity it seems great, but consider the thousands of others who are getting delayed and inconvenienced. I can have some sympathy if it's a really low headway line or time (like overnight), we've all been there. Like a 2:05AM train with the next one coming for twenty five minutes, would I mind if they held the doors? No of course not, no one is that in a rush at that hour lol.

It looks like a standard T-interchange to me. The turns are tight to accomodate the toll plaza, but that's common for toll roads even when they aren't in narrow valleys.

You either have a +10 second delay or you don't have any delay, IMO. I don't think a 3 second delay is possible because their punctuality is based on the principle that they are prepared to speed up to make up for small delays.
Yeah yeah I'm being autistic. I agree with what >>1675494 says, the conductor can be humane if it doesn't imply a delay.
