Knew it as well. Rode flats all my life without issue keeping up. The moment I switched to clipless I started developing feet and knee problems so I ditched them asap. Sandals and flats are peak comfy too

Imagine thinking you need a special mechanism to keep your foot from slipping off the pedal on a fucking road lmao literally the same tier of retard as thinking using the front brake will launch you over the bars

That said, clipless is lighter and makes it easier to go abovementioned gorilla slamming for the last 10 seconds of the race
