Would have been faster and more convenient to use one of those airport conveyor belts to shorten the 15 minute walk.
Hell of a lot cheaper too.
Spend some of the extra money on nice screens and use it as high tech ad space to slowly recoop the price over time.
Or, you know, just make a pleasant walking path that people won't whine about having to use.

Who the fuck commutes back and forth between convention centers every day?

This loop is a go between one part of a massive convention center complex to another. Making it extra spendy since it is just supposed to shorten a 15 minute walk from building to building.
