(pushing glasses up nose) ah but you see there exists a 33.9mi stretch of track along the NEC where Acela trains can travel at 150mph, therefore TECHNICALLY this counts as high-speed rail and the US therefore has high-speed rail. all thirteen-and-a-half minutes of it, under absolutely ideal conditions.

Its a TGV power car matched to the Pendolino coaches. They didn't changed it a little bit, hence why the loco and coaches doesn't match.

If the loco and coaches had the same profile, it would stick out in the corners instead, because the loco doesn't tilt.
