I only wear one in the rain, but it also keeps your forehead from getting disgusting helmet acne because it can be more readily washed after every ride. but a headband does the same if it's not raining

Don't know about the caps but I wear a visor sometimes when it is ether really sunny or when it is raining.
Usually for visibility reasons as I wear glasses.
Can't wear normal ball caps and the like due to my hair.
