it's such a pretty station.
couple of years back they were working on the roof, didn't have caution tape so used multicolored bunting - wish i had a picture of that.
for me it's dupont though, mostly for the tile, that massive mosaic at track level.

All these plans are in the procurement stage and federal/provincial funding is alloted. Eglinton was a fucking mistake to use trams, but it still has enough capacity to do 15,000 per direction per hour and enough north-south connections to not be overloaded at any single choke point for a while

Yeah. They should have started on queen long time ago, at least a short line and phase in extensions. Also, they were digging in the mid 90's for the Eglinton West line (would have relieved the UT pearson express pressure to built) and instead it got scrapped and filled....... Sheppard came a decade later. So stupid. Fast forward now, they're building Eglington LRT which could have very well been a subway line further integrating the system and only requiring extensions going forward. Shame.

Indeed, hopefully by then the East and South lines will be open (I know they're listed as trams but they've changed that to the automated light rail the REM uses). Personally my only issue with it is that the South line doesn't go to Boucherville when it really should due to how much traffic there is around there, the East line should follow the 25 all the way to the 440 to meet up with the main line's expansion, and the East line branch should be built in a way that will make it easy to make a new line connecting it to the South line and possibly all the way to Sainte-Julie, Beloeil or even Saint-Hyacinthe depending on how much demand there is. But with the Chambly extension currently on hold (re: government currently won't approve of it) we'll have to wait and see how successful the main line actually is first to see how much expansion is justified beyond the current plans. Though given the current lines I think it's safe to say the long term plans for the REM are to replace the existing commuter rail lines, which would be great because it would mean VIA and CN would have a lot more opening for cargo and city to city travel.
