I just signed up for my first cycling event. It's a century, and I'm a little nervous, because I hate riding with others, and when I looked at pictures at the kind of people who belong to the club sponsoring, they all look like old freds.

I ride the Tour de Lakes every year. But yeah 1 or 2 a year is all I do. Riding solo is usually more fun.

I've met someone who did this shit, or did some kind of crazy riding around NYC drunk at night. I haven't seen them since 2019 so I dunno if they've done much since. Sounded kind of fun though.

I like to do the track recognition laps when there are mtb events (started riding not too long ago so I need more training) They are fun and challenging.
Will join a mass ride this week for the first time too. It's a little business for the organIzers since they sell the event jersey which is usually 25-35 bucks including the event fee. Not paying for it tho, will just pay the fee without jersey which includes a participation medal for 7 bucks.
