>>1701812>>1701813Living in Switzerland now, where there is a high standard of living, the laws are very strict and very clear:
Driver of a car hits a pedestrian in a crosswalk is a MASSIVE offense and an expensive one.
Driver of a car hits a pedestrian J-Walking, that pedestrian is liable for paying all the repair damages done to the vehicle whether they become a cripple or not.
What's funny is one night in Honolulu I was driving near the Ala Wai into town and was sitting at a red light and first car at the crosswalk/intersection. The light turned green and some Korean lady came flying across the intersection on her bike and I blasted her at maybe 10 mph. She kind of rolled over the hood and got a little scratched and shaken up. I got out of the car and frankly told her she was at fault, made sure she was ok, got back into my car and drove off with zero fucks.
