Must be America problems because in Germany I can't remember not being served on a bicycle in the drive thru (though I usually go into the restaurant if I'm on a bike), and as a matter of fact me and a few drunk friends were even served on a hardware store flat cart once, and during the pandemic they also served pedestrians at the drive thru because they weren't allowed to open the restaurant. They want your money, what do they care what vehicle you arrive in?

In places where drive-thru is a significant source of food, being on a bicycle outside of a park is a reliable proxy for criminality. It's the same with walking other than between a parking lot and the entrance to a building.

Depends, some do, others don't. I tried it twice and got polar opposite results.
A KFC drive-through served me eventhough I've slotted into and held up a line of cars for three drumsticks and a water bottle, and the guy was smiling at me when I picked them up too.
A McDonalds one, despite being completely empty, had the talking machine completely ignore my existence, and the clerc in the payment window told me straight that they have a policy to not serve "pedestrians" in drive-throughs. I was wearing a helmet so he could at least assume that I had some kind of transport under me if he didn't see it outright, but at that point I didn't want to spend a single cent there and left.

All the McDicks in my area have 3-5 homeless drug addicts that hang out there constantly. They all ride crusty bottom of the barrel 26" mtb's. They just throw them down somewhere near the entrance and go inside and buy fucking shakes and ice cream and soda and stay inside getting their free refills for hours at a time it seems. They usually have some old android chink phone without service so they use the McWifi to text or call their dealers. These fucks are solely responsible for how society views and treats regular people who commute by bike instead of car.

Taco bell refused me once because it was after 9pm and dark out. Other than that I havent had an issue in years. Even told a Checkers cashier I was disabled and couldnt drive due to seizures and said I would call corporate and complain about her once and she took my order.

Shouldnt be an issue unless you live in a high crime area.

Why would you want drive through on a bicycle? That just means you'll have one less hand for holding the handlebars. That's dangerous and can get you killed. Just stop, park your bike and get a meal at the normal restaurant.

The voice box is connected to scale, so walking won't work to take the order. Although a horse carriage will activate the order box and the person asking won't know any better, there for, on bike / foot / skate board / what ever. If you can activate the order without having to tap on the glass they'll serve you no matter what mode of transportation ( atleast car centric America is like this).

Though it’s Bullshit that, because of the labor shortage, most places have their dining rooms closed down and ONLY service the drive through. This sucks especially for commercial truck drivers because the trucks CANNOT go through the drive through, and they can’t just wait to go home since that’s several days away. On my bike, I can go to the grocery store and cook for myself.
