Boxcar

No.1713976 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Looks like the hottest new startup is a private company that offers “business class” bus service from the NY suburbs into the city. Here’s what they say:

>All Boxcar buses are equipped with wi-fi, power outlets, and restrooms to make your ride as enjoyable as possible. Each ticket costs $19.99, or $14.99 with a Boxcar Commuter membership.

>We engineer our routes to drop you off and pick you up within 2-blocks of your office.

Are private companies finally stepping up to the plate to provide better forms of transit that can use technology to finally reach that upper echelon of clients, or is this another flimsy Silicon Valley investor scam? Would you pay 15 dollars a ride to sit on a bus with WiFi, restrooms, and reserved seats?
