>>1715299i have three bikes. one for 'riding', this is a recreational bike that I take of trails around where I live, for when I'm going to be on it or at least with it the whole time. I have a second riding bike, but that's an older collectible model that I pull out on very rare occasions. my thrid bike is a nice but old bike that looks like a pile of shit, deliberately so, it has mismatched wheels, tyres, cables and grips, and although the frame is a sweet light and strong tange steel masterpiece from the only decade that counts for such things, it looks like shit with peeling decals, scuffs and scratches everywhere and I even put some gay kids stickers on the top tube just to make it look even worse. The saddle is nice and comfy but tattered at the edges, there are no QR bolts and to add to the overall aesthetic, when I lock it up I use a shitty £2 lock and chain, I want thieves to know I don't fucking care if gets stolen.
Of course it never will be stolen, despite the fact that with a little effort you could split the bike and sell for much more then £500, and despite the fact that it's a joy to ride - it looks like it's worthless.
Bus I agree, never, car, yes when I am taking the family out, but for all my solo travels over shorter distances that don't require hauling heavy goods it's my feet or my bike every time.
