Just get the jap version. They're really not hard to figure out aside from one or two of the objectives you can get in some missions, but there's a translated menu guide. You can also get the PC version of Final on archive, which is even simpler. Or I guess if you want to soften the transition a little, get Japanese Rail Sim: Journey to Kyoto which has fully translated English UI & tutorial and works almost identically to Densha De Go.
